Susan Pavlin

Founder & Principal

Susan Pavlin is founder and principal of TAPROOT,  a consultancy that cultivates economic and community development that is equitable and sustainable. She was previously a financial advisor focused on social impact investing with Merrill Lynch and a consultant in local food systems enterprise and sustainable farming. Most recently, she served as the Founding Director of The Common Market Georgia, a mission-driven local food aggregation and distribution organization affiliated with The Common Market in Philadelphia. Ms. Pavlin is also the Co-Founder and Founding Director of Global Growers, a metro-Atlanta farming organization established in 2010 to connect refugee farmers living in Georgia to farm opportunities. Ms. Pavlin sits on the American Heart Association’s Healthier Diet Business Committee and Foodwell Alliance’s Community Board. She served the USDA Food LINC program coordinator for Georgia and South Carolina (2015 – 2016), and has been a member of the Atlanta Local Food Initiative and the DeKalb Urban Agriculture Committee, and the President of Slow Food Atlanta. Ms. Pavlin is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of Illinois College of Law.
